πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ Presenting at IEEE FG 2026

I had the wonderful opportunity to present my PhD research at the Doctoral Consortium of the 20th IEEE International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (FG 2026), held in Japan.

The Doctoral Consortium is a dedicated session for PhD students to share their ongoing research, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback from senior researchers in the computer vision and pattern recognition community.

🎀 Presentation

I presented my PhD research on Multi-view Temporal Action Recognition in open-space and real-world environments. The work addresses a key challenge in the field: while most existing methods focus on action recognition in constrained, limited-space settings, real-world scenarios demand robust recognition across open and distributed environments with diverse sensor configurations.

The talk covered the motivation, problem formulation, and my current research directions β€” including multimodal and multi-view approaches for accurate action recognition using distributed sensors.

🀝 Engaging with the Community

The Doctoral Consortium brought together PhD students from diverse institutions, creating a rich environment for discussion and collaboration. Attendees engaged actively throughout the presentations, and the feedback I received from both peers and senior researchers was truly valuable for shaping the next steps of my research.

Gratitude

I am grateful to the FG 2026 organizers for creating a dedicated space for doctoral researchers, and to my advisors and collaborators at Nagoya University and RIKEN for their continued guidance and support.

Being part of this community continues to motivate my research, and I look forward to the conversations and collaborations that grow from events like this.
